Argh!
I haven't had a chance to go near the Audi for
ages, so after two months of the car being declared SORN I decided it was time
to buy a tax disc and have a drive.
The battery was flat and we had to jump start
it - no problem there. So we set off in a random direction intending to
charge the battery a bit. We got to about five miles from home and suddenly
lost power right on the edge of a busy roundabout!
Had to wait for a break in the traffic then
roll it back onto the path - in the middle of the grass at the edge of the
roundabout!!
So I called the AA, who got there in 20
minutes. The fan belt had snapped - doh! The AA man fitted one that works,
to get us home, but it squeaks, so the plan is to get the new one (£2.94
from GS&F) fitted at the weekend
and drive the car for a day or two :-)
